A group of talented singers led by Mr. Baboff provided a musical interlude. Lourdes Arias, Nandanie Dunderath and Arianna Goodin performed Hey Little Child, an original composition by Alan Baboff and Fred Lederman.

The students of the Drama Club added to the evening’s festivities with an encore performance of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Footloose from this year’s spring musical “Back to the 80’s.”

Dr. Bekkala and her students contribute their artistic talent by tastefully decorating the lobby and auditorium. The cover and back page of this year’s program included artwork from two students in your class Dr. Bekkala’s class. These drawings made this year’s program special, unique and beautiful.

The Mr. DiGruccio, Dr. Bekkala, Mr. Rose, Ms. Kaplan, Mr. Elia, Mr. Bland, Mr. Baboff, Mr. Morales, Mr. Rader and Mr. Li worked together as a team to create a memorable evening for the students and their families.

Computer Forensics Class Wins Awards
Students from the Lehman Computer Forensics class won Outstanding Group Presentation and Best Technical Analysis at the 3rd Annual Computer Forensics Competition on May 8, 2009 at Pace Seidenberg School of Computer Studies.  Computer forensic techniques are frequently used in to gather evidence when investigating crimes that committed with the help of computers.

The main challenge of this competition was to investigate a fictional case of computer software theft.  The task was to present the evidence that they discovered to the president of the fictional gaming company “Really Great Games.”  The team narrowed the list potential suspects down to disgruntled employee or a hacker from China.  As is turns out, it was an “inside job.”  The owner of the company was illegally selling his company’s software to Asian bootleggers.
The student’s presentation incorporated Powerpoint, video and a live role-play. The students showed their mastery of legal as well as computer investigation concepts.

Mock Trial Competition
On Tuesday March 3rd the Lehman Law Team prevailed against Columbia Prep High School. This was our second win in the citywide Mentor Mock Trial Competition. In the first round we competed against Bronx School of Law and Finance on February 25, 2009 at Manhattan Criminal Court in the fictional case of Cross vs. Porter.  We won both rounds thanks to the efforts of student lawyers Doug Galluzzo, Josh Zarcone and Darren Ganesh, and witnesses Yanique Robinson, Maylene Fortuna, James Randall, Johamna Hernandez, Chris Summo and Nick Summo. All members of the team provided valuable support and backup. Although we got a "bye" and went directly to round 4 (9th place citywide) we were knocked out by St. Agnes HS for Boys in round 4.  On to next year's competition!
